Who would imagine Bago City to be a home of many resorts?
There’s the famous Buenos Aires Mountain Resort and the Kipot Summer Resort. There’s also the Quiet Place Farm Resort and the Rafael Salas Nature Park. However, another marvelous place to see nearby is the Pataan Mountain Resort.
There are two roads to go to, one is the short way through Murcia from Bacolod City where you go on the road to Mambucal. But I say that this road is really aweful even if you drive off with a 4×4 off-road. There’s also another long way around but you go through the same route to Buenos Aires and Kipot. This road is better off as there are no rough roads to go through. However, no matter which roads you’ll take, the trip is all worth it when you arrive at Pataan.
Located at Sitio Pata-an, Brgy. Mailunm, Bago City, Pataan Mountain Resort is owned by a retired policeman.
Now fully developed after so long years, the resort has at least 12 picnic cottages situated near the pool area and the waterfalls.There’s also a space to rent where they can go camping during the night, the pavilion and overnight rooms ready to accommodate at least 15-20 persons.

The water from the falls goes straight downwards making the place scenic and really near to nature. The swimming pool, obviously dominated by the kids, has a good view of the rice terraces in the lowland area. All you need is Php50.00 to get wet in the pool, but the waters from the falls are at no extra cost.
The waterfalls is a different experience. The water is so soothing and really cold. The rocks are not dangerous or slimy to walk on. It’s really safe for folks and young ones to take a dip on the water.

This summer, why not take a break from the city and make a reservation in advance. Especially if you plan to stay overnight try to call them at 476-1330 or 433-0443 or 434-6854. Entrance fee is at Php50 each person and they advice not to bring your own drinking water and liquors.

This is one of the best places to go in Bacolod. Very scenic views, fresh mountain air, and the cool waters that comes from the falls, not a bad place to get some R&R and bonding time with the family.
I was there last April with my fiancé (who lives in Bago city) – it’s a lovely place to stay … and so refreshing to wake up and breath some cool fresh air! (Something that’s in short supply in the Visayas area of the Philippines compared to back home in the UK!)
