Bacolaodiat 2010 Schedule of Events

It’s the fifth year of the Bacolaodiat Festival and again Bacolodnons will celebrate the Year of the Tiger with a big roar.
This year’s Bacolaodiat Festival will be another celebration of the joint Filipino and Chinese culture. It has been an event where the Chinese community of Bacolod would prepare various presentation and share their cultural practices.
Thanks to Mr. Lopue, who updated us with the schedule and other needed information for this year’s Bacolaodiat to make it a big and exciting event.
The location of this year’s Bacolaodiat Festival is along Lacson St. (main festival site) and includes the Chopsticks Alley (located at north capitol road beside Provincial lagoon). There will be an additional sponsor stage with nightly events, located in front of PNB and at 21st-Lacson st.
Furthermore, there will be 4 judging areas for the lantern street dance competition located at:
1) North Capitol Road (in front of the main Bacolaodiat stage)
2) in front of PNB / Pepsi Stage (10th st – Lacson)
3) in front of L’Fisher Hotel (15th st – Lacson)
4) in front of Inaka / San Miguel Stage (22nd st – lacson)

TRIVIA:
“Bacolaodiat” comes from two words, “Bacolod” and “Lao Diat” which is a Fookien word for Celebration.
