Pacquiao Make Negrenses Proud
November 15, 2009 marked another memorable day for the Filipinos. We were once again made proud by Manny Pacquiao as he punched his way to victory and became part of boxing history. Filipinos all over the world tuned in to their TVs to witness and be part of Manny’s fight against Cotto.
The Pacquiao-Cotto fight was one of the most awaited events in boxing. Both fighters were well known as the best in the field of boxing with a string of titles under there name. The match started with Cotto having more punches, he had a total of 93 punches out of 300. Manny, however, reversed this by having 276 punches out of 560. The 11th round seemed to be the mark of Cotto’s defeat though, Pacquiao’s punches came out of nowhere and were hitting Cotto nonstop; it appeared as if the round was going to be the last. They finally reached the 12th round with Manny Pacquiao winning the match by a TKO.
Manny Pacquiao’s victory should be an example for all of us. That we can all rise up from adversities and we can withstand the power punches of life that come our way. Cheers to you Manny for making us all proud!
