Opening a Union Bank EON card for Paypal

Do you know that aside from UnionBank’s Visa credit cards, you can also use UnionBank’s EON Visa Electron and eWallet cards to enroll in Paypal’s expanded Use Program?

This Expanded Use Program will allow users to use PayPal in purchasing products online without limitations.

Here is how you can use your UnionBank card and attach it to your Paypal account and enroll in the Expanded Use Program.

Make sure that you have a paypal account. (If you don’t have one yet, open a paypal account. Follow our article for instructions on how to do this.)

Now that you are registered to Paypal, log in to your account. Go to “Credit Cards” section and follow the instructions on

How to add your UnionBank Debit or Credit Card.

Next, enter the full 16-character card number and CW number of your UnionBank card.

Note that for the Billing Address, use the address of record at UnionBank. This means, for users of UnionBank Visa Credit Card, use the address that appears on your monthly statement. And for users of EON and eWallet Cards, log in to UnionBank Internet Banking and locate the Billing Address in the “Profile” page.

Once your enrollment is complete, you can now use Paypal to purchase online.

However, there is a limit of $100 online purchase only. To lift this Sending Limit, you have to enroll in the Expanded Use Program.

Now, how do you enroll in PayPal Expanded Use Program using your UnionBank card?

After logging in to your PayPal account, go to the “Credit Cards” section.

Select the UnionBank card that you attached and choose the “Enroll for Expanded Use.” Paypal will charge you $1.95 which will be credited back on your first Paypal transaction.

To complete the enrollment, enter the 4-digit Expanded Use Number in the “Complete Expanded Use” section.

UnionBank Visa CRedit card 4-digit Expanded Use Number is found on your next monthly paper statement or viewing your Visa Transaction History online.

EON Cyberaccount or eWallet users: contact your UnionBank Customer SErvice Call Center at 84-186 or 841-8600 and ask the agent to provide the 4-digit Paypal expanded Use (EXPUSE) code. You may need to tell the agent the exact date applied for the EXPUSE code.

Once you have entered the Expanded Use Number, you will receive a confirmation message that the Sending Limit has been lifted.
