A nature trip at Guintubdan, La Carlota City

Caught up in a serene sight of the mountains and gasping view of the city landscape, I found myself on top of one of the highest grounds of Negros Occidental.
Our family decided to spend the night at one of the Province’s best campsite, Guintubdan (La Carlota).

Guintubdan Campsite is situated in Barangay Ara-al, La Carlota. It is a small village some 750 meters above sea level and is found at the western foot of Mt. Kanlaon. Near the camspite is the Guintubdan Visitors Reception Center and Gardens. It’s grounds are open for guest who wished to spend their nights camping and being one with nature.

The place is sure an ideal jump-off point for a trek up to the summit. You will hear the sound of nature singing to the ears of your desired tunes. Guintubdan is a place to relax and unwind from the city’s tiring week.Guintubdan is sure a place to be especially when you want to release the stress away.

Here, I felt nature reconnecting and uplifting my soul.

The pine trees freshens the air and fragrant the whole surroundings. The view of the horizon, simply reminded me that life is a heavenly bliss. Simple chirping of the birds added music to the silence. The rhythym invited me to feel a harmonic tune of nirvana.
When strolling along the road in the night I used to be afraid but here in Guintubdan, I wasn’t. Upon seeing the twilight of the moon glaring down on the leaves of the plants and seeing fireflies twinkling their glows everywhere, I was reminded how God made things so beautifully unique yet so amazingly wonderful.
And oh yes, the waterfalls! Hearing the music of the falling waters simply reminded me that I am in a stress free place. A simple deep in it will definitely wash out my worries for a while and trust me, it sure did!

It made me feel renewed and enlightened.
I was in my own haven.
That’s how Guintubdan, La Carlota made a big impact in my life.

Thank you for this post. I’m planning on visiting soon. One question, I hope you can help, what are my transportation options from Silay airport to Bacolod? The cheapest possible way, if you please. Are there jeepneys? Thanks!
Hi,
There are no jeepneys from Silay airport to Silay city proper but you can ride a bus from Silay airport to Bacolod which costs around Php150.00 and the bus can drop you off anywhere within the city proper. Tell the bus driver that your destination is Ceres South Terminal. From Ceres terminal you will again ride a bus going to La Carlota City your drop off point is La Carlota public market. From La Carlota City you will ride a jeepney going to Guintubdan.
Please do note that Jeepney from Guintubdan to La Carlota have scheduled departure, so plan your time.
Enjoy!
