Visiting the Alejandria Farms

Visiting the Alejandria Farms at La Granja La Carlota City was a sure indeed fun. I went around to see different fruit trees with a background of the mighty Mt. Kanla.on. It’s great to have a break after a long week from work and heavy stress. The aroma of the newly cut sugarcane relaxes your mind and body. The unique sounds of different birds, chicken, turkey and makes the whole scenery complete.
Going to Alejandria will take you about an hour and a half of travel from Bacolod City. Along the way, you will be passing by a lot of sugarcane fields which mixes the aroma of air that brings you back to the memories during the height of the sugarcane era where La Carlota was considered as one of the best sugar producing city.
This time of the year is the peak of the milling season. It is the time where the hacienderos “tapas” (cut) the fully grown sugarcane and delivers them to different milling stations all over the negros island. The sugarcane will then undergo different wonderful stages and processes before it reaches its final product, which is sugar.
The road to La Granja is a bit rough and dusty due to the undergoing road constructions. But this just shows that the city is extending and expanding on rural areas, making it on the way to progression.
Upon arrival to the farm, I indeed enjoyed the day with the freshness of the place. I sweat myself roaming around, walking and enjoying the fresh air, loving the scenery and my connection to nature. I am so tired and exhausted but it’s all worth it.
You too can find the peace within you by finding the connection between our self and nature. Life is short and i believe that in our own little way, we should make the most out of it.
